I finally recieved an email back from AG about the Pretty Clothes patterns copyrights.
They need more specific information about who will share the patterns, and who will recieve the patterns. First, they aren't sure if they still own the rights, and second they cannot grant open permission.
If you would like me to include you in the next email, please PM me the following.
The patterns you have that you are willing to share (copy)
The patterns that you want
and your full, real name and email address.
I can't guarantee any permissions, but it will be good to see where this goes. Remember, this is for private, non-commercial use, and anyone sharing a pattern will not make any profit off of it. We are not selling copies or dresses made from the patterns.
Please don't be greedy and ask for all of the patterns. I think it is more likely to be granted if the request is one or two per person, and then we could always ask again.

Just wanted to add this to let everyone know.
I will organize the reply in the following way.
X wishes to share X patterns with X people.
Y wishes to share Y patterns with Y people.
If more than one person has Kirsten's patterns available, I will split them up, so one person is not distributing them to everyone, but I can't just ask can "someone" copy Kirsten's patterns?
Just wanted to tell you that I am not a sewer, but had to open the post, because I first read it as "attention sue-ers" and I wondered why you were trying to get a sewer's attention or what info you might have about a sewer.
Maybe it's not funny to anyone but me, but I got a chuckle.

Did I spell it wrong? Or are they spelled the same, because that is how you spell the place with sewage. (So-age? Sue-age?)

Could they give permission to "members of the American Girl Fans Message Board", this covering anyone who joins here?
Apple did that in the 1980s by giving distrbution rights of it's OS software and usage of it's name to the fan ran Apple User Groups.
GreyMist- I could certainly ask that first, but he asked specifically the names of the "other people" who wished to share the patterns.
But that is a great idea.
And for those who asked- this is not a trade. This is a photocopy and mail. That's why we need permission. When you give it to someone else, and no longer keep a copy for yourself it's not the same thing.
